Klarlog ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our service.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address (via Firebase Authentication, including email/password or Google sign-in).
Health and wellness data: Daily logs, weight, protein intake, training, sleep, and other tracked metrics you voluntarily enter. This data is stored in Firebase Firestore and on your device.
Community content: Posts, comments, and likes you contribute are visible to other users and stored in our database.
Product preferences: Your "My Kit" selections and notes are stored locally on your device and synced to our database when you're signed in.
Usage analytics: Anonymous click tracking on affiliate links, page views, and feature usage to improve the service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Provide tracking, community, and curation features
- Personalize your experience (e.g., show your kit, your stats)
- Calculate aggregate insights (e.g., "what works for similar users")
- Improve the service through anonymized analytics
- Send service-related communications
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
Klarlog uses these services to function:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, hosting
- Netlify: Static site hosting
- Affiliate partners (Amazon Associates, ShareASale, Impact, etc.): When you click an affiliate link, the partner may set cookies and track the referral. We earn a commission if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We do our best to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
Some data (My Kit, daily log drafts) is stored in your browser's localStorage and stays on your device.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — sign in to view everything you've entered
- Delete your account and data — contact us at hello@klarlog.com
- Export your data on request
- Withdraw consent at any time by closing your account
6. Children
Klarlog is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used Klarlog, please contact us.
7. Health Information Disclaimer
Klarlog is an educational tool, not a medical service. We are not a HIPAA-covered entity. Any health-related information you enter is for personal tracking purposes only and is not treated as protected health information (PHI).
8. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Klarlog after changes constitutes acceptance.

How Klarlog Makes Money
Klarlog participates in affiliate marketing programs. This means when you click certain links on our site (especially in the Products section, My Kit, and embedded product cards in community posts) and make a purchase, Klarlog may receive a commission.

2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to use Klarlog. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Community Conduct
When posting in the community, you agree NOT to:
- Share content that is illegal, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or hateful
- Provide medical advice (sharing personal experiences is fine; diagnosing others is not)
- Promote untested treatments or unsafe practices
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Spam, advertise commercial products without disclosure, or engage in fraud
- Share content involving minors in any sexual, romantic, or exploitative context
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these rules.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant Klarlog a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use your content within the service.
6. Affiliate Links
Klarlog earns commissions on certain product links. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details. Our recommendations are not paid endorsements of medical efficacy.
7. No Warranty
Klarlog is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific needs.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Klarlog and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. This includes but is not limited to health outcomes, financial losses, or damages from third-party affiliate purchases.
9. Account Termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@klarlog.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
